considering cote writes an opinion blog, and he gets to write whatever the hell he wants, i doubt doing anything is going to sway him. it's pretty clear he's not a fan of FIU's and raising a stink about it to others will just make cote go "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh okay" and the rest of the herald will collectively shrug their shoulders because they can't really make him change his opinion.
there are better trees to go barking to than this one, honestly.
Except that this wasn't a blog, rather an actual article he wrote. You are always amongst the first to protect and stand for Herald's anti FIU actions. What's that about?!? Yes, let's do as you say, keep quiet and allow this to continue. Before you know it, it'll be you, me and section 112 sitting all alone @ FIU stadium due to the utter lack and respect of FIU led by the Herald.
article is an op/ed article (In My Opinion); all he writes are opinion pieces. i meant to say that instead of blog. whatever; it doesn't change what i meant.
he's actually allowed to write whatever the $$$$ he wants that isn't slander / libel. ignoring you isn't slander / libel. this isn't me "defending" his "anti FIU" actions (whether they are or not is not the point of debate), it's me telling you that you're wrong. straight up! if you want me to put it like that, his not mentioning FIU is his prerogative and his opinion, and nothing you can do or say will change that opinion, and therefore he doesn't have to write about FIU in his opinion piece. end of discussion.
it's been pretty common knowledge (or you'd hope it was by now, considering how often it's brought up) that there are quite a few FIU fans in the Herald, and they've said that FIU simply doesn't bring numbers. unfortunately it turns kind of into a chicken-or-the-egg situation where more people might be interested in FIU if they were covered better VS FIU would get covered better if there were more people interested in them. you take what they give you and work on it. i only read FIU articles on the herald (occasionally a Marlins/Heat one), and i only buy newspapers with articles i'd like to keep; they're all FIU articles. that's how i get my point across. i occasionally also send e-mail saying, hey, this FIU article rocked -- thanks.
you can shoot hyperbole if you want that it'll just be us fifteen or so hardcore fans (that you've mentioned) at the stadium one day, but considering we're averaging more and more in attendance with each game that passes and each step forward we take that i doubt that'll be the case.
take a deep breath, relax, realize that what cote says and does doesn't matter in the long run and just go back to getting ready for the baseball season. i'm personally looking forward to going to a few games this year for the first time.
tl;dr: cote is a $$$$ asshole but you aren't going to accomplish anything here
