I wonder which local targets Coach Harris is checking out?

Based on pure speculation, players that we might be after from Miami Dade and Broward:

1. Troy Ingle-6'5/280 OL from American Heritage HS in Ft. Lauderdale. Obviously he's just visited FIU this weekend. I don't know if he's under Coach Harris watch or not, but he is local.
2. D'Andre Ragin- 6'3/218 LB from St. Thomas Aquinas 247Sports. ESPN (grade 74), and Rivals 3-Stars
3. Aaron Morgan -6'4/240 DE from Miami Carol City HS. Formerly committed to Ole Miss. 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN (grade 74)
4. Nigel Bethel - 5'11/160 CB from Miami Northwestern HS. Formerly committed to Florida. 247Sports, ESPN (grade 76), and Rivals 3-Stars
5. Jaquan Beaver - 6'0/200 LB from Booker T. Washington HS in Miami. 247Sports and Rivals 3-Stars
6. Lamont Finnie Jr. - 5'10/170 Athlete from Miami High School 247Sports 3-Stars

James Morgan, a grad transfer QB from Bowling Green, is also reportedly officially visiting FIU this weekend. He has 2 years of eligibility wherever he lands, as he is expected to graduate this semester as a redshirt sophomore.

Interesting... Morgan was a 4-star prospect out of high school according to ESPN and 247 Sports (not the composite). Morgan's play statistically regressed last season and he lost the starting QB job halfway through the year. I did a bit of quick research on him, and BG fans seem frustrated by his inconsistent accuracy. From what I've seen on tape, he has a big arm and can make all the throws. His mechanics seem a little clunky though.

I'm all for bringing in multiple QBs. The extra competition can only help. The problem is, even with these new guys coming in (Lynum and any others), they will only have the summer and fall camp to learn the offense. That isn't a lot of time. Odds are we either see Wiggins or MA as the starting QB to start the season.

Thanks for the heads up, 'Fanatic.

Morgan would be a terrific add for FIU. He was recruited by Dino Babers' staff (now at Syracuse). He played well enough as a R-Freshman to unseat a Senior who had filled in for an entire season 2 years previous. Yes his inaccuracy was an issue. He has an absolute rifle and shows touch. With some tweaking by a "QB Guy" he could be a fantastic find. Deceptively quick and mobile for 6'5" 230. He had the trigger pulled on him a few times; was the guy, then wasn't. Was the guy again, then wasn't. No matter the QB the team constantly battled from behind. Statistically one of the worst defenses in college football (#125).

Another player we might add is 5'11/190 Safety from Miami Northwestern HS, Rachad Wildgoose. Wildgoose just decommitted from Georgia minutes ago after he was (at least) slated to be on a visit in Georgia this weekend, and according to 247Sports database is slated to visit UCF on January 26. Wildgoose is a 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN (grade 78) 3-Stars with offers reportedly from Georgia, Auburn, Nebraska, Kentucky, Florida, Rutgers, UCF, FAU, Maryland, NC State, Ole Miss, Purdue, Oregon State, Wisconsin, and Temple among others.

I don't think we necessarily are in it, but I see a bunch of FIU coaches/staff following him on twitter, and that's a good sign.

FIU target Teja Young recently decommitted from Colorado St. He was expected to visit FIU at some point this month, but he reportedly just took a visit to FAU this past weekend, where he then made announcement he is committing to a new school soon... I'm guessing he will be an owl.

Yep, saw that and as you well say (once again thinking alike), I expect him to stay local and commit to the Owls.

How many actual scholarships do we have left to hand out and sign? By my count it's 4... or is it 3 left?

The kid has good size and a nice arm from what I can see in his video. An official visit his great. Plus, he's got interest from other big name schools.

Someone see who liked and retweeted Bryn, might be some clues as to which players he is talking about.
