I'm sure the excitement for this game took a big hit after the UCF game. This should be a nice bounce-back opponent. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcasted on BeIN.

One thing I'm keeping an eye on is Hurricane Irma. Miami will likely be in the cone of Hurricane Irma by tonight or tomorrow morning. The storm is supposed to make it's closest approach on Sunday. I wonder if they will move the game up in the day to try and get everyone out of there in case the storm is expected to come close?

I wouldn't lay big money on the game taking place as scheduled. And here is to the best for all of us, btw. That storm looks fearsome.

It seems that Irma does not like football and she is showing it at a cat 5. I am not a betting man, but I would put money that this game is not going to happen.

Be safe all and don't procrastinate.

I agree. I don't think it's happening either.

This game is definitely getting postponed or canceled. Hope we can find a date to make up the game. Sucks to get a bi week so early. We needed the bounce back game.

Looks like the game will be moved to Alabama. I'm guessing UAB has offered to host the team this week and then next week as they prepared for Indiana.

Quote:
FIU's home opener will get played, a long way from home.

The Panthers will meet Alcorn State on Friday night in Birmingham, Alabama. The game was to be played Saturday night in Miami, but had to be moved because of the anticipated impact of Hurricane Irma.

FIU will leave for Alabama on Thursday, and has secured all the charter flights, buses and hotel rooms it will need to accommodate the travel party. There are plans in place for the Panthers to stay in the Birmingham area through the weekend — if Irma keeps them from returning safely to Miami.

If the game was not moved to a neutral site, it would have been unlikely to be rescheduled.

So is BeIN no longer covering the game? Any TV or radio?

I would but being on Friday makes it impossible. I can't get there from Atlanta after work. I'm trying to talk the boss into an early Friday exit.
