I hope there is plenty of noise from over there.

I love the mentality.

Guys, we are 5-2 and off to the best start in program history.... Where's the excitement!?

Yes, we are 5-2, but on the other hand, look at our competition thus far. Besides Marshall, we were supposed to beat all the other teams easily. I'm not trying to be a downer, just being realistic. Our real test lies ahead with the second half of our schedule.

Let's go Panthers!!!

(I'm still excited)

I'm excited to be one win away from a bowl game, with a real goal in sight. With the amount of bowl games in the schedule we are automatically going bowing with a 6-6 record. Let's go Panthers!!!

LOL. You are being a downer. Weren't supposed to beat Tulane either. Besides Alcorn St no game was a given. Just joking.. Its great to finally be excited about FIU football and the direction of the team.

In that Marshall game I saw a composure and confidence that I have never seen in FIU Football teams.
Even when we had TY Hilton.. the attitude among fans and players was WWTYD (What will TY Do to save us). Big plays are now coming from all over the roster. The dramatic reversal in organizational culture across the program is impressive.

I disagree. Other than Alcorn State, no game on our schedule was a given. We're FIU. Other teams see us and say "easy win" or "very winnable." We've never, before Butch Davis, been able to guarantee wins against any given team (and, I'm not 100% sure we still can... yet). So, actually beating teams "we were supposed to beat" is a BIG accomplishment for us. ...If we only finish out this season with wins over ODU and UMass, I'd be ecstatic (well, less ecstatic than 3-4 more wins). We're actually a stable (if not solid), well-coached team! When was the last time, if ever, that we could say that?

Not being a downer. Being realistic. Before the season began, we all had high expectations. I counted us going 6-6 (and that was with Indiana on the schedule).

I know that there are no automatic wins, ever. But on the other hand, we have definitely gone through the easier half of the season so far.

I don't see why we can't win 1 more game in our remaining games.

Go Panthers!!!!

I think that any previous FIU team would have folded up in the face of Marshall's comeback like a cheap media tent on the North Concourse of Silva Stadium. That was no TY Hilton picking up a fumble and heaving it for a Hail Mary TD win but an out and out butt whupping just like the Tulane game was. There will be let-downs and bad breaks and whatnot from here on out, but if the team plays consistently across the board as it did vs. Tulane and Marshall, then 3-2 is a downright reasonable expectation. UTSA plays a lot of seniors so I don't expect a lot of mistakes from them, especially on offense. We will just have to see who has the better set of athletes. If this is anything less than a close-fought contest, I think it will be quite a disappointment.

Have the fans ever rushed the field? I think the win tomorrow definitely deserves it.

So FAU pulls out a one score win over Marshall. Let's hope we do our part tonight so that the Owl Fry will be relevant. As for UTSA, in contrast to past years, we get to wonder what schemes our coaching staff might employ to match up against an opponent. What a difference, and one I am sure is not lost on our players. Go Panthers!
