Kiy Hester, a former 4-star safety who is transferring from Rutgers (potentially as a graduate transfer) has been at FIU and had dinner with Butch Davis and Ken Dorsey. Kiy has one year of eligibility left after being named an All Big-Ten honorable mention at safety last year. He ranked 29th nationally with 1.2 pass break ups per game despite playing injured and had 2 INT returns for TDs. He would be a tremendous add for our young secondary. If he graduates over spring/summer semesters, he is eligible to play this 2018 season.

He would add instant impact capability to a fairly young and inexperienced DB group. Part time 3-year starter for a BIG 10 program, initially signed with Miami, and consensus 4-Star player out of high school.

Would be great if he went from casually having dinner with Butch, to casually playing for Butch.

Big time pickup at our weakest position. He'll make a big impact on our defense. Great job, Butch, Bryn, and Ken!

Heck yeah! By my count, that's 6 former 4-star guys that will be playing for FIU this year that weren't playing for us before: Tayland Humphrey, Teair Tart-Spencer, CJ Worton, James Morgan, D'Antne Demery, and now Kiy Hester. Butch is really increasing the talent levels and COMPETITION. Competition breeds excellence. Go Panthers!

This is great for the program, btw we can count Jordan Woods too who was a 4 Star player by ESPN and Rivals.

You are absolutely right! Wow! I want the 2018 season to start already, but if we keep adding players in the offseason I'll wait 8)

Let’s wait 3 more months then, shall we? Hahahaha. I have a feeling we will have a surprise or two come our way as transfers before this coming 2018 academic year starts. Even if it’s for (a very promising) 2019 season.

Go Panthers!
