You know that argument goes both ways though.

More talent to work with at OSU and UNC? Yeah, but a heck of lot easier schedule at FIU. That's a wash. A number of you are skipping over the part that Butch clearly picked his guy in this instance--not some dog he settled for after weeks or months of searching. I mean, when Withers came through the door, it hit Guy in the butt as he was going out. My own guess is that it is Butch who prefers a more conservative defensive scheme and that we are not going to see 11 guys moving around until one second before the snap and very few kamikazee blitz packages. I imagine that Butch simply thinks Withers will be better at doing what he wants done than Guy was. Judging by the results of the previous two years, I am inclined to T.I.B.

Yeah, well so much for whether or not he was "worthy" to be our DC.

It wasn’t so much if he was “worthy or not” but there were some good questions about the performances of his defensive units while serving purely as a DC.

Our OC RS had better metrics as a purely OC.

Either way, now we wait to see what Butch Pulls our.

Maybe Guy comes back saying he really missed Coaching....

Bring back Phil Galiano. He loved his chili mild and at room temperature.

What I liked most about the Williams hire was that it looked like it was done about instantaneously with the previous DC's resignation. I just hope Butch has anothern in the wings. Most of the time, the best searches are the ones that aren't searches at all, other than for the top spot, that is. We will see, but somehow I don't think Butch will be out there looking for someone who will bring a whole bunch of new ideas to the table. I am betting he has a vision of what he wants and that he will be looking for someone just a tad more able to make that happen than the guy who left coaching to collect stamps, or knit, or whatever it was.

According to Eric henry’s interview with Butch; looks like Butch has a list of like 4 guys right now and expects an announcement in 5-7 days

“Collect stamps, or knitting”.

Now that’s funny

Well, Chia, I am with you in the hopes that the next guy won't bring along a bunch of posts from the previous stop ridiculing us for the choice.

I am also very skeptical of co-D coordinators.... I’m going trust Butch knows what he is doing, but I don’t have much omconfidence with this move...

Not really anything to be excited about. I'm surprised at this and a bit concerned, to say the least. Unfortunately, the only thing I can say, like Building A Dynasty said, is I have to trust Butch.
