I'm going to try and track transfer and recruiting for basketball ala, what FIU Fanatic does for football-

Incoming (Signed):
(SF) Ronald Whitaker (Jr.) 6-7 - A lightly recruited SF out of Southwest Tenn. JC. Sounds like another body in the Cameron Smith mode. Averaging 8.9 points-per-game – on 42.7 percent shooting from the field and 71 percent from the free throw line – and grabbed 4.3 rebounds-per-contest. Whitaker was named to the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association All-Region 7 Team
(G) Eric Lockett (So.) 6-5 - 3*** Originally went to George Mason coming out of high school, he played his last season at Chipola JC, he seems to be a shooter, which is badly needed. Lockett, who shot 47.6 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the three-point arc, scored in double figures in seven games for Chipola, including a career-high 14 points three times. He also dished out double-digit assists three times, including 10 in his debut, and a career-best 14.
(PF) Michael Kessens 6-9 (Sr.)- A Graduate transfer who played his last 3 years in Alabama, averaging 5/6 pts a game. He gives the Panthers much needed height and experience and will be able to play immediately to boot.

Incoming (Verbals):
(PG) Greg Shead (Fr.) 5-11 - Lightly recruited and unless he is a ball handling, assist specialist who can come in an distribute the ball, he will be stuck behind Williams and Nottage, however, if he can handle the ball, then it should help us out.
(C) Raekwon Long (Fr.) 7-0 - 3*** Center from North Carolina, seems to be a little better developed than Brown Bull, if he comes in, he could challenge for playing time and could be a capable replacement for Diaz down the line.
(PF) Richard Bivens (Jr.) 6-9 - PF from East Los Angeles CC, he averaged 10.9 points per game and 8.4 rebounds, he was the 2nd leading scorer for ELCC who went 26-4 for the year.
(PF) Jay Harvey (Jr.) 6-9 - PF from Shawnee CC, averaged 3.0 points per game in limited action.

Offers:
(C) Jhan Paul Mejia 6-10 (Jr.)- Another big player, is also being recruited by Cal State Fullerton. Averaged about 8/9 pts a game a Northeaster Oklahoma JC.

Bivens is a 6-9/ PF from East LA Community College. He was rated pre-season Top 100 JUCO Player in the state of California: http://www.angelfire.com/sports/jc/top100of16.html He averaged 10.9 points per game, 8.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game for the ELAC team that went 26-4 overall and lost in the California State Championship game. He was the second leading scorer and leading rebounder in this team. He looks to be ready to contribute right away.

Welcome to FIU, Richard!

New Commit, happened a few weeks ago....

Couldn't really find much on this guy except that he's another big. 6'9", 246 pound PF. Seemed to have played very little minutes, when he was in, was able to hit his shots. Don't really know what to make of this guy.

Quote:
@FIUHoops Rounds out Signing Class with Kessens and Harvey

FIU Head Men's Basketball Coach Anthony Evans announced today the addition of two 6-foot-9 forwards – Michael Kessens from Nyon Switzerland (University of Alabama) and Jay Harvey from Chicago, Illinois, (Shawnee Community College) – to the Panthers' roster. Kessens and Harvey join spring junior college signees Eric Lockett of Chipola College, Ronald Whitaker of Southwest Tennessee Community College and Richard Bivens of East Los Angeles Community College, and are expected to contribute immediately during the 2016-17 season.

I don't understand, so there will be no freshmen in this class? Gary Shead and Raekwon Long are not happening? This is really bad news, you can't sustain a program on JC players and expect to be good.
