0%. FIU needs to move on. Brilliant hire in Coach Davis (football), very good hire in Coach Melendez (baseball) now we need another good hire in basketball.

I guess this team is the best he's had since being at FIU... so, from that standpoint, maybe one could argue he should stay.

But Evans has yet to have a winning season in 5 years... so I say no way unless he somehow wins the CUSA tourney and gets at least one win in the dance.

Even then... not sure, to be honest. He's really not done a good job bringing talent to FIU. You can't keep grabbing JUCO's every season and expect to be a consistent winner.

Actually, I think this season he is on pace for his 3rd worst record at FIU. I don't see this program having any kind of chance under him. Time to take a chance on someone new.

Evans was a brilliant hire, who like Melendez (baseball) had success at previous employer.

For what ever reason it hasn't worked out for him.

Recruiting has been hard for him.

It's best for FIU and Evans to part ways. A major problem with hiring a replacement is whom? It is an incredibly tough job.
Possibly the hardest to job at FIU.

Time for a new hire. Evans was a really smart hire at the time. A lot of success at a smaller school but his recruiting at FIU has been subpar. To his credit they have been good kids and we haven't had any scandals on the team but the whole JUCO revolving door has the team stuck below .500 every season.

This year's squad has a lot of talent. Maybe we can pull a Butch Davis move and bring in someone to get the most out of them and have a good season next year. I know we might not have the money with football a priority but I can see us with a big name hire. Just don't let it be Rothstein as some of you have seriously indicated may be in the works.

There's no way in heck he can justify an extension. New coach please!

Well FIU losses 69-68 in what could, and should, be the last game for Coach Evans at FIU.

If anyone would be a Garcia type hire that would be it. That said, would he even consider a program like FIU’s especially since his son coached here?

Well he lives in Miami and no big program will touch him.

I don't care what he does in his personal life, so I have no problem from that standpoint, but we need to make sure that there are no compliance issues with the NCAA.
