Tyrone Marshall returns to FIU, and so do the memories
Quote:
General opinion is that the high-water mark for FIU men's soccer came on Dec. 13, 1996.

On that chilly afternoon in Richmond, Va., the Golden Panthers -- then a Division I program for less than a decade -- earned a spot in the national final with a 4-0 rout of UNC-Charlotte.

I remember vividly those days leading up to the NCAA Championship game...also remember watching the game on TV, and going crazy after his bicycle kick...it was an awesome moment in FIU history.

Good to see how in tune, surprised and glad he is about the transformation of FIU's campus....

Welcome back to FIU, Tyrone!

looks like the stadium holds 50,000 if the attendance was 17,269. A lot of empty seats there.

It looked empty during the first half of Costa Rica vs. Canada because people were hanging out outside, still buying tickets and such. By the time the second half rolled around, the stadium was nearly filled to capacity. It was a great place to be!!
