That is great news! The first two off campus towers were built on 109th ave. 107th seems like a more prestigious (might not be the best word to describe it, but I haven't had coffee yet). Definitely gets more vehicular traffic.

I know exactly what you mean, pikedanny. 107th is certainly not as...perhaps...."hidden" as 109th Avenue and way more visible/tangible, if that's what you mean. Little by little, FIU is becoming more and more part of the immediate surrounding community. There's the obvious hope that with the new on campus housing, and some of these private housing geared to FIU students within walking distance, that university life at or around FIU is set to improve dramatically in the near future.

University City is slowly but surely becoming a reality. To really get this idea fully caught on with us students some investment in a couple bars/nightlife or simply some new entertainment infrastructure that gives sweetwater more life. Hopefully an investment group is looking at this possibility.
