He casually mentioned on his latest blog entry that he is no longer doing sports. FIU getting a new reporter?

He mentioned it on twitter also. He could be rough on us sometimes, but I'll miss him on the FIU beat. Can we start a petition to bring P.P. back? Hope they don't just dump the FIU blog altogether. It's not the same since the Herald changed the comment rules.

Glad he's gone. He is an excellent writer and you could tell he took pride in his work, but you could tell he took pleasure in making FIU look bad to further his career.

Lol....his career was not furthered by Him trashing us. DJN has been around as long as we've played sports. Djn, yes I'm calling you old.

I don't think they are going to cover us daily. Expect coverage only when the big three sports do something worthwhile. Expect more coverage on allegations and fall out over women's basketball.

Gone are women's achievements in softball, swimming, soccer, golf, sand volleyball...etc.

But mostly, I'm going to miss the coladas he brought to our tailgates and our disagreements\conversations.

At least FIU baseball will not be violating ADA regulations by blocking access with DJNs picnic table.

I would expect little to no coverage from the Miami Herald with the "reorganization" of reporters.

Sorry to hear this. I think Neal was pretty good. Definitely better than a lot of the other MH reporters.

I suspect Roman's right. Newspaper industry is dying a very slow death. I thank God every day I chose broadcast over print in J school.
