FIU earns the #2 seed in the tournament, Marshall wins the regular season title, and the double bye. FIU's first game will be played tomorrow, possibly against #3 La Tech who we just swept. Starting tomorrow, the tournament becomes double elimination.

Rookie standout Shannon Saile paced the FIU pitching staff to the league's lowest ERA and earned C-USA Freshman of the Year honors. In addition, FIU placed Stephanie Texiera (IF), Jackie Schoff (OF) and Saile (P) on All Conference 1st Team as well as Ashley Leon on the 2nd team.

We had a great tournament. We just didn't get the win when it mattered in the championship. Close loss, 1-0. Still very proud of this team. Still going to the regionals tournament.
